Gear Required

Hardware:

A functioning lever action rifle chambered in a caliber that you can shoot for 5 hours (45-70 might not be the most ideal option, if you know what I mean.)

Please bring a cleaning kit and tools that are compatible with the firearm in question.

Ammunition:

300 rounds of the caliber you are running for the day, flat nose is always preferred.

No steel core, steel jacket, bi-metal, green tip or armor piercing rounds, or self reloaded ammunition allowed in any classes. Please check your ammunition before attending class.

Belt:

A standard training belt with a quiver is recommended, we use Ranger Point Precisions belt holders.

Eyes and Ear Protection:

Both are required to shoot, however if you do not have either we are happy to provide them for you. If you would like to purchase your safety gear prior to class, I am happy to suggest companies I know and trust to keep you safe.

Additional gear:

  • Notepad and pen (Recommended)

  • Baseball hat (Required)

  • A cleaning rag

  • Water bottle / Hydrating device

  • A willingness to try :)

What to Wear:

Seasonally appropriate attire is recommended, please check the weather report before attending, it’s always a smart idea to bring some extra clothing if the weather changes. Wear comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty, be mindful if wearing boots with a heel might lead to instability and grow to be uncomfortable. When it comes to tops, I always suggest something with a high neck to avoid brass falling into your shirt, if chilly out bring some layers like sweatshirts and jackets that restrict the wind from cutting through. Bottoms wise, shorts in the summer are always appropriate, for winter months it’s always a good idea to bring/wear long johns under your pants and wool socks.

Class duration:

We are slotted for a 5 hour class, however we will not be training for 6 hours straight.

We have accounted for needs like short breaks, lunch, extra time w students (if needed,) to insure you know we will not be going over 6 hours on the range at the most.

Lunch:

We will not have lunch available for you, you must bring your own. Snacks are always a good idea, too.

Hydration:

It is vitally important you stay hydrated during our training, electrolytes are always a good idea, too. We will be on our feet for most of our time together, so just keep that in mind!

We recommend hydrating 24 hours before hitting the range.
